This year, Wakefest Arts Festival is opening up its doors for a most nocturnal Cabaret / Soirée. And what better place than the HIBOU'S nest?? Wakefest is about fusing the arts ... merging them ... and instead of musing on doing ... actually DOING! And in this spirit, so is this edition of:
.ism(e): Performance Cabaret. TRY IT ... YOU MAY LIKE IT.
That is, have you ever tried to do your spoken word while hoola hooping? have always fantasized about dancing the dance of the Seven Veils on those train tracks? Is that entertaining? Can it be done? We don't know. Try it. Choreograph it! This is not a Nike commercial but JUST DO IT! Mix it up ... you know you want to!
Showcase for new and in progress performative works for birds of all feathers. For the last 3 years Ism(e):Performance Cabaret has been bringing dance, spoken word, theatre, comedy, circus and performance that defy categorization. All on the same night!!
If you're interested in showing us your plumage, send an excerpt a synopsis or at least a very good description of your piece to scott: scott@fools.ca or annie:flamelicked@hotmail.com or even still wakefest2009@hotmail.com Pieces are to be 7-10 minutes in length.

.ism(e)'s own Annie Lefebvre and Wakefest superstar Norman Nawrocki (Mtl) will shake their co-hosting tailfeathers for you and make you laugh, cry, scratch your head in utter bewilderment, or you can go ahead and PLUCK them.

It's been 3 weird, wonderful, wacky years, and after 20 plus cabarets, Annie and I have decided that .ism(e) must die - so it can be reborn!
In 2010 we will be changing up the format of the .ism(e) cabaret, giving it a new name and a new look. Before we do, we're celebrating one last time with some fabulous acts and a big super blowout party! We'll even be giving you a sneak preview of what you can expect in the cabarets in 2010.
What else can you expect at Fatal...ism(e)? We've got some pretty fabulous acts lined up for you: Nick Di Gaetano will be playing several songs throughout the evening as we embrace our first ever HOUSE BAND! We've also got ANDY MASSINGHAM and his incredible chair, JESSICA RUANO and her wicked words, VANESSA GENDRON and her extraordinary puppets, ALIX SIDERIS mixing up the best drink you've ever had; SCOTT FLORENCE with something strange, ANNIE LEFEVBRE as your Host with The Most.... and more more more more more! Plus drinking and dancing all night long!

Après trois ans de bon temps et au dessus de 20 spectacles tout aussi loufoques et surprenants les uns que les autres, On dit au revoir à l'ancien, Aux traces et aux trous laissées dans vos mémoires. En 2010, Scott et moi, on change la formule! mais la magie se sent ce soir et on vous en donne un aperçu avec:Notre homme orchestre Nicholas DiGaetano nous égayera avec ses tounes toute la soiréela belle. Jessica Ruano nous régalera de sa poésie et de ses histoires inventées, un numéro sans mots et une chaise de notre maître en théâtre physique Andy Massingham, De loin loin loin, Vanessa Gendron encaisse son République Tchêque et elle amène sa vision et ses marionettes! C'est une première pour Alix Sideris ce soir qui nous mélange le meilleur cocktail estival de sa vie de Clown!! Scott Florence nous donne quelque chose de bizarroïde, c'est sûr, et pis, ben moi j'ANNIE. On vous réserve des surprises alléchantes et aguichantes, y'aura de la musique, de la danse et une afollie complête!Venez à la meilleure célébration du temps des Fêtes!

November is a month for memories:
Remember, remember the 5th of November?.
Remembrance Day is November 11th
As we gather round the fires in November, frost and snow on theground, a long winter ahead, we can't help but turn our thoughts back and summon up the past in stories to keep us warm.
We'd love to include you and your piece in our cabaret! You can submit anything you'd like - and if it ties in with the theme of Remembrances, well, even better!
Pieces should be 3 - 7 Minutes long. What kind of piece? If youperform it, we'll consider it: music dance poetry performance slam stagemime clown crazy you got it we want it!

Vous rappelez vous du 18 août?Vot' compte d'hydro?Le bonheur d'être un enfant?
Nous voulons vous voir au prochain cabaret et si votre oeuvre est thématique, encore mieux!!!Soumettez votre extrait de texte, de poésie, chanson, numéro de clown qui se roule dans un tas de gruau à l'érable qui dure entre 3 et 7 minuteset prenez la chance d'être aussi éclatés que vous le voulez!Surprenez vous au prochain cabaret ism(e). Vous vous souvenez à quel point c'est bon êt' su'a scène?
